Bio
Nata a Genova nel 1996, si appassiona fin da bambina a tutto ciò che può essere creativo. Dalla fotografia alla pittura, dalla modellazione 3D all’home staging. Frequenta perciò il Liceo Artistico Paul Klee - N. Barabino e, dopo un anno trascorso all’Università degli Studi di Genova al Dipartimento di Architettura e Design, si iscrive al DAMS di Torino. Oltre a ciò sperimenta con diversi linguaggi, tra cui quello cinematografico, dirigendo la fotografia di molteplici cortometraggi e studiando le tecniche di montaggio in funzione della video-arte. Lavora come Grafica, Fotografa, Social Media Manager e Videomaker freelance.
Nel 2009 inizia ad approcciarsi alla fotografia, studiando completamente da autodidatta.
Dal 2014 comincia ad approfondire la fotografia di nudo partendo dai principi del romanticismo e inserendo corpi non sessualizzati in un contesto naturalistico, dove la figura umana è un soggetto secondario e fa da contorno all'immagine.
Col tempo decide però di ridurre al minimo gli elementi dell'immagine, portando le figure umane in un contesto totalmente pulito ed etereo. I corpi rappresentati tornano ad essere canonicamente i soggetti, ma rimangono privi di sessualizzazione, o di un'identità di genere precisa. Riproducendo ossessivamente la figura umana, spera di riuscire a carpirne la mera essenza, ovvero, solo un ammasso di atomi in un moto perpetuo ma mai davvero uguale.
La necessità più profonda è quella di riconoscere un corpo nudo in quanto tale e togliervi il ruolo di tabù e oggetto sessuale, indipendentemente dal genere, imposto da un retaggio patriarcale ormai datato e superato. È fondamentale quindi il messaggio della Body Positivity che sostiene la validità di ogni corpo e il merito di essere rappresentato a prescindere.
Mostre
Nel 2019 espone la sua prima personale "Ephemeral" in Sala Dogana al Palazzo Ducale di Genova e partecipa all'esposizione collettiva "Imagenation" di Parigi con un suo lavoro.
Nel giugno 2019, partecipa con alcuni lavori di Ephemeral e la nuova opera “Sainte Victoire” alla collettiva “Young and Lovely”, all’Ex Ospedale Psichiatrico di Genova. Nel novembre 2021 espone 2 lavori di “Sainte Victoire” alla collettiva “Paratissima” a Torino, dove vince il premio “NICE & Fair / Contemporary Visions” . Nella primavera del 2022 espone a “Paratissima Talents”, progetto espositivo che raccoglie in un evento dedicato artistx più talentuosx delle edizioni 2020 e 2021 di Paratissima, selezionati tra oltre 1000 artistx. Partecipa poi a “Liquida Photofestival” sempre in casa Paratissima per tutto il mese di maggio 2022.
Nel Marzo 2023 partecipa alla mostra “Imagenation New York” alla Soho Art Gallery di New York.
Bio
Born in Genoa in 1996, she has been passionate about all things creative since childhood. From photography to painting, from 3D modeling to home staging. She attended the Paul Klee - N. Barabino Artistic High School and, after a year at the University of Genoa in the Department of Architecture and Design, she enrolled in the DAMS program in Turin. In addition to this, she experimented with various languages, including cinematography, directing the photography of multiple short films and studying editing techniques for video art. She works as a Graphic Designer, Photographer, Social Media Manager, and Freelance Videomaker.
In 2009, she began her journey into photography, completely self-taught. Starting in 2014, she delved into nude photography, drawing from the principles of romanticism and incorporating non-sexualized bodies into a naturalistic context, where the human figure is a secondary subject that complements the image.
Over time, however, she decided to minimize the elements in the image, placing human figures in a completely clean and ethereal context. The bodies represented once again became canonical subjects but remained devoid of sexualization or a specific gender identity. By obsessively reproducing the human figure, she hopes to capture its pure essence, that is, merely a collection of atoms in perpetual motion but never truly the same. The deepest need is to recognize a naked body as such and remove it from the role of taboo and sexual object, regardless of gender, imposed by an outdated and surpassed patriarchal legacy. Therefore, the message of Body Positivity, which supports the validity of every body and the right to be represented regardless of gender, is fundamental.
Exhibitions
In 2019, she held her first solo exhibition "Ephemeral" at Sala Dogana in the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa and participated in the group exhibition "Imagenation" in Paris with her work. In June 2019, she participated with some works from "Ephemeral" and the new work "Sainte Victoire" in the group exhibition "Young and Lovely" at the Ex Psychiatric Hospital in Genoa. In November 2021, she exhibited 2 works from "Sainte Victoire" at the "Paratissima" group exhibition in Turin, where she won the "NICE & Fair / Contemporary Visions" award. In the spring of 2022, she exhibited at "Paratissima Talents" an exhibition project that brought together the most talented artists from the 2020 and 2021 editions of Paratissima, selected from over 1000 artists. She then participated in "Liquida Photofestival" also part of Paratissima, throughout the month of May 2022.
In March 2023, she participated in the "Imagenation New York" exhibition at the Soho Art Gallery in New York.
